The Alliance Against Family Violence (AAFV) is the only agency in Leavenworth County
that provides services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault,
and/or stalking and we run the only 24-hour local crisis line. The AAFV is a
not-for-profit organization founded in 1984 to provide a safe place for victims of
domestic violence to stay. Since the founding our services have developed further.
Our services now include 24-hour staff, 24-hour crisis line, support groups for victims
of domestic violence, court advocacy, relocation and employment assistance, rape
crisis advocates available 24 hours a day, counseling and referrals for people who use
violence in relationships, parenting classes, adolescent anger management,
assistance in filing Protection From Abuse orders or Protection From Stalking orders,
community education, 2 low cost (Kanwork approved) childcare centers, and a
southern county satellite shelter.
Most of the agencies funding comes from private individuals who donate their time,
talents, and/or financial contributions. The Alliance Against Family Violence is a
