GROUPS
  • Domestic Violence Victim Support Group- The support group
    is a psycho-educational group facilitated by an advocate.  Support
    group focuses on dynamics of domestic violence, safety issues,
    and mutual support.  Free childcare is available.  There is no fee
    for attending this group. Call 682-1752 for more information.
Sexual Assault Advocacy Coordinator.  The primary goal of the
Sexual Assault Advocacy Coordinator.  The primary goal of the
groups is to provide a support network, a safe healing environment,
and educate survivors on community resources.  There is no fee for
attending this group.  Call 682-8979 for more information.

  • Children's Play Therapy Groups- Our play therapy groups are
    facilitated by a licensed masters level social worker.  Play Therapy
    groups encourage children impacted by domestic violence to
    express their thoughts and emotions in positive ways.  There is no
    fee for these groups.  For more information call 682-8979.
  • Parenting Classes- Parenting classes are facilitated by the
    Children's Advocate on either an individual basis or group basis
    with parents.  The parenting classes utilize the STEP parenting
    program and last 10 weeks.  There is a $25 enrollment fee, and a
    $5 fee per session.  For more information call 682-1752.
  • Domestic Violence Prevention Program- The AAFV Domestic
    Violence Prevention Program primarily serves court ordered
    individuals, but is also available to individuals in the community.  
    The AAFV DVPP is a 26-week intervention program, utilizing
    the Duluth Model developed by Ellen Pence and Michael
    Paymar.  There is a $25 initial enrollment fee, and $15 fee per

  • Domestic Violence Substance Abuse Group- The AAFV
    substance abuse group is a psycho-educational group facilitated by
    a licensed master level social worker that addresses issues of
    substance abuse as they relate to domestic violence.  This group is
    for victims of domestic violence.  There is no fee for this group
    and free childcare is available. Call 682-1752 for more
